Wie könnte ich diese Challenge ignorieren?! Conny und das Meer, 4ever and ever. Hier auf Lomoherz wurden schon so einige Meer-Bilder verbraten und demnächst kommt nochmal ein nigelnagelneuer Schwall Fotos aus meinem Urlaub und auch die ersten Bilder von meiner Unterwasser-Expedition hinzu…

Dieses Bild entstand jedenfalls auf Usedom, aufgenommen im Mai 2009. Ich kann mich noch gut daran erinnern, denn in diesem Kurzurlaub wagte ich die ersten Schritte mit meiner just-ersteigerten LC-A. Sie kam noch gerade rechtzeitig vor meiner Abreise an, sodass ich kaum Zeit hatte, mich richtig mit ihr vertraut zu machen. Daher knipste ich einfach munter darauf los – und was es für tolle Motive gab! Die wunderschönen Ostseebäder samt Seebrücken, ein viktorianischer Jahrmarkt mit Hochradfahrern und Kettenkarussel, eine lustige Bimmelbahn und unser Hotel war ebenfalls ein pittoresker Traum.
Nur blöd, dass ich vergessen hatte Batterien in die Kamera einzulegen…
Das Bild oben wurde also nicht lomografisch aufgenommen, sondern mit einer vollautomatischen analogen Kamera, die meine Mutter damals noch benutzte. Schön finde ich es trotzdem und ich muss jedes mal schmunzeln und dann gleich mit dem Kopf schütteln, wenn ich an die vertanen Chancen denke, die meiner eigenen Schusseligkeit geschuldet sind. Soo typisch 🙂

As I am living close to the Baltic Sea, this challenge was too good a chance to pass up!
The picture was taken on Usedom, a small island in the east of Germany. Meteorologically speaking, it is the sunniest place in all of Germany!
I remember this photo well, because it is not lomo at all. I had just bought a used LC-A and wanted to try it straight away during my short holiday break. And I did, snapping away at a Victorian-looking fair and (supposedly) capturing pictures of men riding penny-farthing bibycles.
Alas, without checking the batteries first…
Perhaps we had a gut feeling, for we were also taking quite a lot of pictures with my Mom’s camera. Back then she was still using her analogue one, which was even more of a toy camera than the lomogrpahic ones, minus the lomo features. Push the button and the film gets automatically transported forward – you don’t have to worry about a thing.
But at least she had some batteries in there 🙂

Even though it is missing a proper foreground and always reminds me of all the passed opportunities, I like looking at this picture with the little hut and the red flag telling you that the sea is too rough today to go swimming. Notwithstanding the beach chairs, it is perhaps the most Californian place in Germany as well 😉
